# Maintainers

We use MAINTAINERS.md to track active maintainers and emeritus maintainers
|
|
rather than relying solely on GitHub teams. This codifies the process for
|
|
adding and removing maintainers as well, provides transparency, and leaves
|
|
an audit trail in the git history.
